He is Associate Professor of Urban Planning and Design at IE University, Visiting Professor at Francisco Marroquin University and member of the Researching Group in New Technologies, Architecture and Cities of Polytechnic University of Madrid. He is the Director of Urbanism at Juan de Mariana Institute (Fisher Venture Grants Award 2009 and The Templeton Freedom Award 2008), Director of Gestion Metropolitana de Arquitectura y Territorio and, co-founder of Puertaverde Architecture + Urbanism Studio, where he works as an architect, urban planner and designer. He has received many academic scholarships and won the “Viera y Clavijo (Science) in Architecture and Engineering” Research Award 2007. He was F.A. Hayek visiting scholar at George Mason University from september 2010 to february 2011, a post-doctoral visiting researcher at Cardiff University School of City and Regional Planning (2007), a pre-doctoral visiting researcher at Polytechnic University of Madrid School of Architecture (2004-2005) and a Erasmus Scholar at Instituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia (2002). He has worked as an architect and urban planner since 2003. From 2005 to 2007 he worked with Ezquiaga Arquitectura, Sociedad y Territorio as an urban planner and designer in several urban projects. Throughout his career he has published several academic papers in the areas of Urban Planning and Property Rights, Urban Planning and Market, Urban Planning Laws y Urban Economic Theory.
