José Sanz continues to collaborate with the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) (ES), as she has been working on research projects carried out from that center during the last few years. From 1997, she has been teaching and researching as an entomologist in the undergraduate studies of Biology, and also managing and organizing the academic program of this undergraduate studies (she has been Department Director from 2006 to 2008, the Program Director from 2008 to 2010, and currently she is the Director of Undergraduate Studies in Biology). Currently she works with other researchers in IE University, on a research Project analyzing the impact of the lack of pasture in high mountain systems on fauna and flora. Her research is focused on the study of the biology, biogeography and ecology of insects, mainly the Coleoptera Curculionoidea.
