Design and communication are the two main themes of the activities co-organized by IE University in the upcoming edition of the Hay Festival, the annual international gathering in celebration of literature and ideas. Hay Festival 2012 is set to take place in Segovia from September 22 to 30, bringing together authors and artists from around the world. As academic partner and key sponsor, IE University is actively collaborating with the Hay Festival, by organizing meetings with big names in diverse disciplines, sponsoring the press office, and encouraging its students to serve as volunteers.

Global public relations agency Weber Shandwick took part this Monday in the presentation of end of course projects by students of IE University’s Master in Corporate Communication. In the course of the event the Weber Shandwick Prize for the best project was awarded to Building Brand Awareness for the National Geographic Store Journey.

More than 240 teens enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) are scheduled to descend on Segovia July 1, in advance of the opening of the first-ever IB World Student Conference. One of two IB conferences to be held this July, the Segovia event, located on the IE University campus, provides a venue for extracurricular learning in a collaborative environment amidst like-minded youth eager to dive into a rich intercultural experience with their peers.

Barcelona will be the setting for the 2012 ACSA International Conference: CHANGE, Architecture, Education & Practices, set to be held at the city’s Center for Contemporary Culture and at the Caixa Forum on June 20 – 22.

Under an agreement with IE University, a group of students from the University of Arizona in Tucson, a US institution and an international leader in Technology and Engineering studies, takes part in a program of linguistic and cultural immersion in Segovia. For six weeks, thirty-two American students will attend classes on the campus of Santa Cruz la Real to learn Spanish language, literature, art and culture, taught by professors from IE University and the University of Arizona.
