IE School of Architecture & Design have sponsored the “Class of 2011” award at the Architect of the Year Awards organized, last Tuesday November 15th by Building Design at the Brewery in London.

IE University has now joined the Cloud Universities Forum powered by Google, which has been presented at the Academy of Arts, Sciences and Motion Pictures of Spain in Madrid. Thirteen Spanish universities are part of the group that aims to create a place where all universities would adhere to share their codes of good practices and ideas as well as to help maintaining contact with each other in a fun and simple way.

Next November 8 and 9 the symposium MIT+IE “Considering Cities II” will take place at IE. Three Professors from MIT, Nader Tehrani, Yung Ho Chang and Alexander D’Hooghe will present their view of the present and future of the contemporary city in a series of short presentations which will be followed by an open discussion between the speakers, the IE Professors Martha Thorne, Javier Quintana, Jose María Churtichaga and Ricard Frigola, as well as the rest of the audience.

IE University holds the No. 45 position worldwide and No. 21 in Europe in a survey conducted by International Herald Tribune to gauge which universities employers intend to recruit from in the future. The ranking analyzed the opinions of 3,000 CEOs and senior managers from 1,000 companies in Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, US, Spain, France, Italy, Holland and UK, about the best 150 universities in terms of graduate employability. US universities Harvard, Stanford and Yale achieved the top positions in the ranking, which includes 23 universities in North America, 21 in Europe, and 2 in Asia. European institutions include 2 Spanish universities, Universidad de Navarra (41st) and IE University (45th).
