  • IE University holds the No. 25 position worldwide in the ranking drawn up by the education supplement of The Times of India and Youth Incorporated magazine, based on the opinions of students and professors from 1,300 universities and over 8,000 recruiters
  • IE University, with facilities in Madrid and Segovia and students from 87 countries, is ranked among the 5 best universities worldwide for business administration programs

IE University is ranked No. 5 in Europe and No. 25 in the world in the 2014 ranking of universities published by Youth Incorporated magazine and Education Times, the education supplement of The Times of India, which has one of the world’s largest circulations. IE University is the only institution in continental Europe among the top 25 universities, the majority of which are from the Anglo Saxon world (84%), led by American universities. IE University has climbed 4 positions in the ranking since last year’s edition, and 12 positions since 2012.

The international survey, designed to gauge the opinion of students and professors from some 1,300 universities and over 8,000 recruiters, places IE University in the No. 5 position worldwide in terms of business management programs, which further consolidates IE University as a world leader in this field. IE University also holds the No. 8 position in terms of levels of student satisfaction, and No. 10 in terms of price/quality ratio and satisfaction among recruiters.

The Universities of Harvard, Stanford and Pennsylvania hold the top 3 positions in the global ranking. IE University is at No. 25 with a score of 92.8 out of 100, and is the No. 1 Spanish University and No. 5 in Europe. IE University and Ramón Llull/ESADE, which is at No. 88, are the only Spanish universities to make it into the ranking.

Youth Incorporated invited the opinions of students, professors and recruiters from 1,300 institutions. The criteria used to draw up the ranking includes employability, work opportunities following graduation, the price/quality ratio of the program, student satisfaction, teaching methodology, diversity in the student body and faculty, and aspects like infrastructure and facilities. The ranking examined how students and professors score their educational experience, as well as the opinions of 8,000 recruiters regarding universities where they intend to recruit graduates in the future.

“We are delighted that IE University’s efforts to introduce business administration into different fields of university education are recognized by the international community,” says Antonio de Castro, Dean of Undergraduate Studies at IE University. “In an international arena dominated by universities from the Anglo Saxon world, we feel that joining the top 25 educational destinations for future students is a major achievement.”

This recognition comes shortly after the news earlier in the week that IE University’s Bachelor in Business Administration has been accredited by EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), the quality assurance arm of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). This accomplishment, added to the program’s accreditation by US accrediting body AACSB in 2012, makes IE University one of only a handful of European universities accredited by these two leading global agencies. IE University’s Bachelor Degree in Business Administration is one of only two in Spain which hold the double accreditation.
