Danilo Messinese

Danilo Messinese’s is a Post-Doctoral fellow at Strategy Department at IE University. His research interest is focused on entrepreneurial strategy and decision-making under uncertainty. He studies how the adoption of theory-driven and design-driven strategies impacts the formation and growth of new ventures as well as how firms deal with uncertain contexts. His approach consists in testing formal economic theories and models by running field/lab experiments involving managers and entrepreneurs.

Danilo also launched pre-acceleration programs for early-stage start-ups around the world where he has worked with more than 1,000 entrepreneurs. In his role, he combines the latest management practices with research insights to help deliver cutting-edge training and mentorship programs.

Danilo holds a Ph.D. in Management and Business Administration from Bocconi University, Milan. He came to his doctoral program with a master’s degree in Theoretical Physics and a specialization degree in Mathematical Finance (cum laude), both at the University of Bologna, and experience as Management Consultant at Bain & Company.
