Dr. Hooper is a specialist in South Asia and the Middle East. She is Associate Senior Researcher Senior Research Fellow Associate at CIDOB and Project Director for the CIDOB project “Sources of Tension in Afghanistan & Pakistan: A Regional perspective”.
She has worked as an Independent Consultant for the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the UN, the OECD and bilateral government aid programmes, including in the areas of governance, socio-economic development and poverty reduction, for over 25 years. From 2008-2011, she taught business strategy at EADA business school in Barcelona. Dr. Hooper speaks Arabic, Farsi and Urdu, as well as Spanish, French and Italian. She has lived in 7 countries on four continents, including Kuwait, Lebanon, and Pakistan, where she was based full time from 2004-2008. She now lives in Madrid. Her current interests include the intersect between the political economy, development and change.
