Fernando Rodríguez is a co-founder, with Pablo Oriol, of the architecture firm FRPO. The firm is committed to innovative design as a continuous conversation between all the agents that contribute to the complexity of building processes.
Rodríguez has been invited to lecture and exhibit FRPO’s work in numerous cities in Spain and Europe. He has been as guest critic, invited by Kees Cristiaanse, at the Technische Universität of Berlin and has collaborated with the firms at MVRD Rotterdam in 2002 and Abalos & Herreros, 2004-2005. His projects have also been published in international and national magazines. His work at FRPO has been awarded many prizes including the Architectural Record Design Vanguard, 2012; Europe 40 UNDER 40 Awards, 2009; Bauwelt Preis, 2007; Wallpaper Design Awards, 2007; Ortega-Alloza Awards of Architecture, 2007; and VM Zinc Awards, 2006. His international competition entries have received awards from WTO Head Quarters Extension in Geneva, 2009; Campus de la Justicia Access and Service Building, 2008; Chicago Burnham Prize Union Station 2020, 2008; and Europan 8, 2005.
Rodríguez received his architecture degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, School of Architecture (ETSAM) where he is currently a PhD candidate. He also studied at the Technische Universität of Berlin (1995-2003).
