José Manuel Rodríguez Martínez

José Manuel Rodríguez Martínez began his professional career in 2007, in the State Secretariat for the European Union in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, as Head of Area "Justice and Home Affairs". Between 2009 and 2010 he was Counsellor in the Permanent Representation of Spain to the European Union (REPER).  Between 2010-2013 he served as Consul General of Spain to Oran (Algeria). Between 2013 and 2018 he was Counsellor in the Permanent Representation of Spain to NATO. In 2018, and until his incorporation in Iberdrola in 2019, he was Adviser on International and Political Affairs in the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.

 In the academic field, he is a professor at the Comillas Pontifical University -ICADE, an associate of the Davos Economic Forum, author of several articles and a regular speaker at conferences. He has been awarded the Cross of Military Merit (white decoration).
