Juan Luis Cano Rodríguez

Juan Luis is an Aerospace Engineer with a passion for tech communities and sustainability. He currently works at Canonical, the makers of Ubuntu Linux, as Developer Relations Engineer. He has over 10 years of experience contributing to open source software, including during his time at McKinsey, where he worked on Kedro, an open source data science framework hosted by the Linux Foundation. His background spans the IT, space, consulting, and banking industries.

Apart from being a long-time user and contributor to many projects in the scientific Python ecosystem (NumPy, SciPy, Astropy) he has published several open-source packages, the most important one being poliastro, an open-source Python library for interactive astrodynamics used in academia and industry. In addition, Juan Luis has been a Python trainer for several private and public entities, including Airbus, Boeing R&T, IE, ESADE, ISDI, UPM, UC3M, and UA.

Finally, Juan Luis is the founder and former chair of the Python España association, the point of contact for the Spanish Python community, former organizer of PyCon Spain, and current organizer of the PyData Madrid monthly meetups.
