Mario Sánchez Moreno
Mario has extensive experience in International Relations and Education (Higher Education & EdTech), with 25+ years expertise in the international arena and over a decade of extensive field experience having resided in Sweden, Mexico, and the U.S. (San Francisco, CA), working with public and private entities in the conception and development of strategic projects to innovate in teaching and learning methodologies, programs and EdTech tools as well as internationalize projects and corporations.
Currently, he serves in the Provost Office at IE University as Director of Liquid Learning, focused on the institution-wide development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Teaching and Learning.
Before joining IE, he worked as consultant and enterprise vendor with Multilateral Organizations (The World Bank, The Inter-American Development Bank, The Pan American Health Organization, among others), also acting previously as focal point (Liaison Officer) for The World Bank and The Inter-American Development Bank in Spain to facilitate engagement with private sector.
He holds experience in entrepreneurship in the U.S. (Silicon Valley, CA) in the EdTech sector and he also managed internationalization business and education programs (European Union and International projects) as the former Director of Strategy & Intelligence at the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
He holds a master’s degree in European Affairs from Lund University (Sweden), a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) on AI Governance & Legal Framework, a Postgraduate Degree in Social Media and official certifications in Teaching Methodology and E-learning from The Inter-American Development Bank (Washington DC, U.S.) and Spain’s Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, and a bachelor’s degree in law. He is a practicing lawyer member of the Spanish Bar Association.
At IE University, his current research and teaching focus on AI adoption, implementation, and responsible AI use within the fields of entrepreneurship and law.
