Xabier Muruaga is an experienced AI architect and technical leader with more than 15 years of experience turning business objectives into scalable, production-grade AI/ML, generative AI, and data solutions.

As Global Head of Iberdrola’s AI & Data organization, an enterprise-wide center he established, he sets strategy and directs the design, deployment, and governance of secure, cloud-native AI and data platforms in line with Responsible AI and FinOps best practices.

Earlier global roles in cloud architecture, leading technology for customer-facing energy solutions such as EV charging and distributed solar, and driving large-scale digital transformation programs give him a balanced perspective across strategy, architecture, and delivery governance. His work includes secure generative AI and autonomous AI agents, backed by governance controls and rigorous evaluation and assurance to ensure reliable, audit-ready production outcomes.
