Mary Jo is an internationally-renowned expert in reputation, brand and crisis management and a trusted corporate advisor on the complex dynamics of international governmental relationships.

She leads an international consulting practice with clients mainly in the Middle East and Asia.  She is the Non-executive Director for Employee Engagement of The Weir Group plc and a Court of the University of Stratclyde.  She is an executive mentor with the Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) and Criticaleye and a member of the international advisory board of the University of Oxford’s Rothermere American Institute.

Mary Jo devised the award-winning global brand strategies for Lehman Brothers and the HSBC Group where she originated the deploying airport jetties as brand and thought leadership messaging media.  She played a pivotal role managing three historic corporate crises:  at BP in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon tragedy; at Royal Dutch Shell following miscategorization of its proved oil and gas reserves; and at Drexel Burnham Lambert through what was then the largest securities fraud investigation in history.

Mary Jo has held public appointments on both sides of the Atlantic.  She was Assistant US Secretary of Commerce in President George H W Bush’s Administration and was Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan, who also appointed her to his Advisory Committee on Trade Negotiations.  British Prime Ministers David Cameron and Theresa May appointed her to the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments, prior to which she was one of Her Majesty’s Civil Service Commissioners.  She began her career on the staff of the US Senate Committee on Commerce.
