Andrés Obando Orozco

Andrés Obando holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Pittsburgh, and degrees in Political Science and Philosophy from Universidad Nacional in Bogotá, Colombia. Before joining IE Business School, he taught at several leading universities in Colombia and the United States, including the University of Pittsburgh, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario.

His research explores the impact of environmental and cultural factors on literature, cinema, and the arts, along with the philosophical and theoretical frameworks necessary to understand the environmental and cultural challenges facing contemporary societies. Through a transdisciplinary approach that connects fields such as ecology, literature, and philosophy, Dr. Obando provides a comprehensive understanding of these and other relevant topics.

Dr. Obando has collaborated with prominent public agencies in Colombia, including Parques Nacionales Naturales and the Ministry of Culture. His work has been published in major journals and edited volumes, reflecting his academic commitment and research expertise.
