Andrew Whitworth

Andrew is the Founder and Director of Global Policy LTD, an independent consultancy for crypto, fintech and tech policy. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence where he researches on the politics of the digital transformation in finance. 

 Andrew’s professional experience is in the public and private sectors in the UK, EU and US, for organisations such as Ripple, the Bank of England, Curve, and in public affairs consulting. He was formerly chair of Blockchain for Europe, the EU's main Blockchain association, and sat on the board of the UK Crypto Business Council and the Digital Pound Foundation. He co-founded ICDEF, an independent research platform for crypto and digital finance.  

 He has a PhD in International Political Economy from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), based in Washington, DC and Bologna, Italy; and a BA/MA from the University of Oxford. His latest publications are Regulating banks: the politics of instability, and a Policy Guide to MiCA.
