Arce Domingo-Relloso

Arce Domingo completed her Ph.D. in Biostatistics at the Spanish National Center for Epidemiology and the University of Valencia with a La Caixa INPhINIT fellowship in 2023. During her Ph.D., she conducted research fellowships at Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (Melbourne, Australia) and Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health (New York, USA). After that, she was Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health until 2026. Since 2026, she is Assistant Professor (tenure track) in Data Science Applied to Biotechnology at IE University School of Science and Technology. Before her Ph.D., between 2018 and 2020, she worked at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health (Department of Environmental Health Sciences) as a biostatistician. Arce’s research interests include epidemiological studies of the impact of environmental exposures in human health, including the identification of potential intermediate mechanisms such as epigenetic dysregulations, with a special focus on cardiovascular disease and cognitive outcomes. Her research is also focused on causal inference methods including causal mediation analysis, competing risks, high-dimensional data analysis, longitudinal data analysis and target trial emulation. Her research has been published in journals like JAMA Cardiology, JAMA Network Open, Circulation, International Journal of Epidemiology or Environmental Health Perspectives. Arce is co-founder and editor of Te lo dice una científica, a science news outlet awarded by the Journalism and Communication in Sustainability Awards from Masorange (Spain). She is also an active member of the Environmental Health Working Group of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology, which is involved in scientific divulgation and policy contributions.
