Christina Kyprianou

Christina Kyprianou is Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at IE University. She received her PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Texas-Austin and an MBA from Babson College. After living in the U.S. for 20 years—Washington, D.C., Massachusetts, Texas, and South Carolina—she joined IE’s international community in 2020.

Her research has examined how cultural and relational dynamics shape entrepreneurship, strategy, and ecosystem growth. Combining qualitative field methods, computational text analysis, and theory-building, her work has been published in leading journals such as Academy of Management Discoveries, Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.

Her current projects increasingly focus on growth and organizing processes in entrepreneurial, business, and platform ecosystems, often through field-based collaborations with new and established organizations. Some of her more recent work investigates how self-organization and leadership practices enable ecosystem expansion, and how values, norms, and collaboration practices shape the conditions under which ecosystems grow and evolve.

Christina teaches Entrepreneurship and Corporate Entrepreneurship in IE’s International MBA, Master in Management, and PhD programs. A common thread across her courses is that an entrepreneurial mindset is not only useful for starting a business but also a driver of professional advancement and personal fulfilment.

In her free time, Christina enjoys outings with her dog, traveling to new places, visiting family in Cyprus and the U.S., making jewelry, growing and propagating succulents, cooking, and swimming. She is fluent in English and Greek and has advanced knowledge of Spanish, French, and Italian.
