Javier Godoy Pinedo

Javier is a marketing professional who has worked at the intersection of data and business impact throughout his career, starting at the dawn of the Internet and the dot-com boom. He has worked as a data specialist in various aspects of the marketing industry, including agencies and consultants, start-ups and large enterprises, media, and advertisers. His role has been to help organizations make the best decisions possible with the help of data, acting as a translator between technology and business.

As a teacher and lecturer, Javier has been a pioneer in promoting the principles and techniques of digital analytics. He has lectured at more than a dozen universities and business schools and given speeches at various international events. He helped organize the first meetings for digital analytics practitioners, known as "Conversion Thursdays." Javier has also published some of the first texts on digital analytics and social media analytics, becoming a benchmark in the use of data for forming digital business strategies.

 Throughout these years he has worked for many renowned brands, such as Repsol, Movistar, BMW, Diageo, L'oreal, PlayStation, Heineken, Peugeot, Real Madrid, Mutua Madrileña, Bankinter, and Línea Directa. As an entrepreneur, he co-founded an agency and a specialized consultancy, and more recently an online travel agency with his wife.

 Currently, Javier works as a Senior Manager and Product Owner in the Advanced Analytics holding area of BBVA. In this role, he coordinates the development of data and analytics solutions to be implemented in the six main geographies where the bank operates. This position allows him to learn about the bank's reality in multiple markets and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, combining his knowledge of data science and business.
