Jose Oscar Alvarez Calzada
Oscar Alvarez holds a Ph.D in Economics from the King Juan Carlos University and a degree in Political Science and Government, with International Relations as his special subject, from the Pompeu Fabra University. He is also a university expert in Intelligence Services (Instituto Universitario General Gutierrez Mellado) and holds a diploma in Political Strategy and Communication from the Institute of Political and Social Science.
Oscar Alvarez has spent most of his professional career working in the fields of International Relations and Intelligence.
He was the Director of Business Climate & Economic Intelligence of Invest in Spain (Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade). Later, he was the CEO of Global Strategic Intelligence Services (SIEG), a company that belongs to S21sec group.
Moreover, Mr. Alvarez was the Vice-president of the Spanish Association of Competitive Intelligence (ASEPIC).
He has also developed an important activity in the academic field. Specifically, he has been Associate Professor of International Studies at the CIDOB Foundation and at the Master in Intelligence Analyst (URJC and Carlos III University). Previously, he headed the Course of Foreign Investment Promotion at the CEDDET Foundation.
Currently, he is Vice President at Instituto Choiseul, a global French think tank and consultancy firm specialized in Geoeconomy, Intelligence & Corporate Diplomacy.
