Dr. Barberá’s primary research interests deal with Political Communication, North America politics, Crisis Communication, Spanish Foreign Policy and Communication Psychology.

Rafael Barberá holds a Ph.D. in Journalism from San Pablo CEU University of Madrid, a BA in Journalism from San Pablo CEU University of Madrid and a BA in Law from Complutense University of Madrid. He has been accredited by ANECA.

He has followed several courses on International Relations at University of California, both in Berkeley and in Los Angeles. He did a research at Harvard University for the doctoral thesis.

Prof. Barberá is currently Adjunct Professor in Political Communication and Advocacy Campaigns at IE University. He is also a professor of Communication Psychology and Crisis Communication at Complutense University of Madrid, and of Public Relations at College of International Studies in Madrid. He directs the Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Production at Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid, and at this University is a professor in Master’s Degree in Political Action.

He has published several scientific articles on these subjects in different Journals and books. He is the author of “Estados Unidos 3.0. La era Obama vista desde España”.

As a journalist he has worked in different media and has been Director of communication in Telemadrid.
