Sandra Herrera is a licensed and practicing architect and professor in the Architecture department at IE University. Her research is based on digital production and representation. She is the founder of the architecture studio Sharqk since 2011, and is currently designing several housing developments.
She balances professional practice with academia. Prior to IE she has been the representation coordinator and lecturer in digital representation in the Master in Landscape Architecture at San Pablo CEU University. She was also a representation instructor, and collaborated on representation and studio courses at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. She has been invited as a guest critic to the GSD and the Boston Architectural College. Her work has been the recipient of several awards and scholarships, such as the Dean’s Merit Scholarship, the Faculty Design Award and the Peter Rice Prize from Harvard University.
Sandra Herrera holds a Master in Architecture degree with distinction from Harvard University and a professional degree in Architecture from San Pablo CEU University in Madrid.
