Global Recruiters Connect with IE New York College Students to Accelerate Their Careers Worldwide
Top employers from technology, banking, consulting, retail, health, fashion, and entertainment industries met with students at the IENYC’s SoHo campus to attract global talent for their organizations.
Recruiters and executives from the world’s leading industries, including technology, banking, consulting, retail health, fashion and entertainment, gathered at IE New York College’s SoHo campus to meet with IENYC students and alumni from across the globe and attract talent to their organizations. The session focused on corporate expansion strategies and the search for high-potential talent ready to drive impact in a fast-paced job market, deeply transformed by technology and geopolitics, both in the U.S. and globally.
The event provided students with direct access to IENYC’s community, an opportunity to grow their network, get first-hand perspectives on career development, hiring expectations in a shifting business landscape, and on the vital importance of developing a strategic mindset and communicating with impact. The panel featured senior leaders, including Michelle Fox, Principal, Talent Management at Apollo Global Management Inc.; Andrés Mendoza, Head of Talent and Culture at BBVA’s Corporate & Investment Banking USA; and Ines Drieselmann, Vice President for Global Alumni and Talent & Careers at IE University.
A key focus of the event was the power and development of Executive Presence. Rather than an innate personality trait, industry experts defined it as a performance skill, the ability to project confidence, command authority, and inspire trust in professional settings. The session, kicked off by Jonathan Bell’s keynote on personal branding, provided students with tools to align their personal narrative with their professional goals. In today's market, as Bell explained, hiring decisions favor candidates who can not only deliver results but also communicate with impact, demonstrating the "gravitas" and credibility required to lead in complex corporate environments.
"Technical expertise is now a baseline in many recruitment processes. The winning margin often comes from how candidates present themselves, communicate their value, strategic mindset, global experience, and how they build relationships as a pathway to thrive in fast-moving environments. Active listening, being proactive, networking with intention, and showing genuine interest in what drives a company can become powerful differentiators," said Ines Drieselmann, Vice President for Global Alumni and Talent & Careers at IE University.
Career Outcomes: IENYC Class of 2025
The success of IENYC’s Class of 2025 underscores the value of real-market proximity and global reach. The Class of 2025 achieved 100% career outcomes, with graduates working across the world upon completion of their studies. 82% are employed in corporations and SMEs, and 18% have launched entrepreneurial ventures, reflecting IENYC’s entrepreneurial mindset. Geographically, 71% are working in New York City, 23% in Europe, and 6% in the Middle East and Africa.
A central pillar of the IENYC experience is the opportunity for students to gain professional experience in the United States. Through the Optional Practical Training (OPT), graduates can work in the U.S. for up to one year, or up to three years for those in STEM-designated programs. IENYC reported that 100% of OPT applications for the Class of 2025 were approved, providing students with the opportunity to develop their careers in one of the world’s most competitive business hubs.
The results of an experience-based curriculum translate into immediate momentum for students building their professional pathways. Cassandra Iona Timofte, a Master’s in Global Business & Sustainability graduate, is now an investment banking analyst in New York. Similarly, David Manu, a Master in Management graduate, highlights the program’s hands-on approach, including direct company touchpoints and one-to-one professional engagement, as the key to navigating the global recruitment landscape with confidence.
