IE Business School is Spain´s first Business School and one of the first in Europe to offer online content on iTunes U. The initiative allows iTunes users to access and download high-quality educational content and resources free of charge. This decision goes in line with IE's constant philosophy of innovation and the sharing of knowledge.

Through IE Business School on iTunes U (http://itunes.ie.edu/) users can freely access educational resources that are separated into two main areas: Open Multimedia and IE Experience.

The Open Multimedia section is divided into the nine management areas at IE Business School and includes a series of podcasts focused on the key discussions and initiatives in each of these topics. Highlights include a weekly Economic Environment podcast series, in which professors debate and analyze the latest economic trends.  All these resources are also used regularly in IE´s face-to-face, blended, and online programs.

IE Experience correlates with the student´s progression at IE Business School - from the admissions process to the careers management.  In this way the viewer can, for example, find information and helpful tips regarding how to apply to programs and watch video reports of faculty involved in these programs. The IE Experience section is vital viewing for potential candidates, as well as alumni who wish to relive their experiences and continue to enjoy the support provided by IE Business School.

IE Business School on iTunes U allows users to subscribe to the content, enabling them in this way to receive automatic updates directly to their computers or mobile devices.

Idoia Olazar, Project Manager of the e-learning department at IE Business School, explains that "IE is the first business school in Spain and one of the first in Europe on iTunes U.  It is an important way to distribute educational resources and further information for future students, current students and alumni of the school. We also see it as an excellent initiative to generate interest in the multimedia documentation we have produced since 2001, when we created our e-learning department to promote multimedia use at IE. It is a good opportunity to raise awareness of our activity in this field among potential students and firms that will now have open access to the material we produce and use in our class discussions."
