IE University celebrates '100 Days of Diversity: The Beauty in the Blend'
The 'I am remarkable' workshop will support women in STEM, celebrating their professional achievements and accelerating their careers.

This week sees IE University launch ‘100 Days of Diversity: The Beauty in the Blend’,a three-month celebration at its Madrid and Segovia campuses of diversity, inclusion and a sense of belonging. Between now and May, the institution will welcome international figures, present research reports and organize events to analyze the keys to managing diversity, inclusion and a sense of belonging, in order to produce responsible managers committed to making a positive impact on society.

“At IE University we have a unique ecosystem of students and faculty from 140 countries. And when we talk about diversity, we refer to nationality, cultural origin, academic background, sexual orientation, religious orientation, we also refer to people with different abilities, different idelogies and interests. The sum of all these perspectives enriches the training experience, develops our critical thinking, allowing us to understand the world through different prisms,” says Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño, Executive President of IE University.

To launch the initiative, on Wednesday 22, IE University is hosting conference on Africa’s legacy and the continent’s historical movements in defense of civil rights. On March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day, university is organizing the Women Leadership Conference, which will look at the growth of female leadership the world of work, finance, technology and innovation.

STEM FOR YOUNG WOMEN

Also in March, IE University will hold the ‘I am remarkable’ workshop with the aim of supporting women, celebrating their professional achievements and accelerating their careers. Along the same lines, at the academic level, the institution will offer a training program on Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging.

Literature will also take center stage in March, with the visit of Egyptian writer Reem Bassiouney, professor of sociolinguistics at The American University in Cairo (Egypt), who will share her views on feminism, literature and business, together with Celia de Anca, Director of the Center for Diversity Management at IE University.

Young women with an interest in STEM disciplines will be able to participate in the STEM Talent Girl competition, an initiative that promotes the participation of female students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs.

In April, the Segovia campus will celebrate IE Global Village Day, a virtual trip around the world at the historic Santa Cruz la Real, where students from 140 countries will share their history, traditions, music and gastronomy in this annual celebration of diversity. IE University’s Creativity Center in Segovia will host the photography exhibition ‘Through Her Eyes’, exploring the connection between art, equality and human rights.
