IE University Champions Social Impact Innovation at Sustainability Week 2025
The week kicked off with a focus on social impact through the Volunteer Fair in Madrid and Segovia.
IE University is leading the conversation on sustainability at IE Sustainability Week 2025, running from October 27 to November 6. Under the theme "Regenerative Practices", the week-long program brings together students, faculty, researchers from 160 countries, alumni, and experts from business and institutions. The goal: share best practices, co-create innovative solutions, and strengthen the global sustainability network. The event has been organized by IE University students in collaboration with the Sustainability Office and Campus Life.
The week kicked off with a focus on social impact through the Volunteer Fair in Madrid and Segovia, connecting Bachelor’s and Master’s students with NGOs and organizations dedicated to positive change. Upcoming highlights will include the Agri-Business Competition: Food Sovereignty, where students compete to design strategic solutions addressing food insecurity and nutritional poverty. Complementing this, the Climate Fresk interactive workshop offers participants tools to understand the causes and effects of climate change, fostering practical learning for global action.
Career development in sustainability is a central pillar of the week. A high-profile roundtable will feature executives from leading organizations such as CHEP, Clarity AI, and L’Oréal, exploring trends and opportunities in sustainability careers within a rapidly evolving global market. Students can also engage in Flash Mentorship sessions, connecting with IE alumni in executive sustainability roles for guidance and networking.
On the research front, Sustainability Week showcases the results of the RAIA Summer Research Program 2025, highlighting innovative solutions developed by IE students and faculty to address pressing global challenges.
The week will conclude with a screening of the documentary "Kiss the Ground" at the Segovia Creativity Center, and the digital exhibition "Before Fast Fashion" at IE Tower, in collaboration with the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, which examines textile history and the ethics of clothing production.
