IE University students bet on Spanish young talents
IE University organizes with its students “Aquí hay talent” a serie of conferences that will congregate in four Spanish cities young Spanish entrepreneurs coming from business, technology or entertainment. They will speak about their experience and the keys to success
IE University backs an initiative lead by some of its students, consisting in a series of get-togethers for students with some of the best young entrepreneurs in Spain on business, technology or entertainment. All over April, in four of Spain biggest cities, Barcelona, Sevilla, Madrid and Valencia, “Aquí hay talent” will host a meeting with these young talents that will make known their personal and professional experiences to students between 16 and 22 years old.
This group of students considers that the economic and financial international crisis has had a big impact in the current young generation. These circumstances, they say, have brought low the spirit of their peers, “so we think it’s time to change our vision on the world, to wake up our potential and find a way to success; our goal is to make see that for each threat there is an opportunity and for each weakness a strength”. This initiative wants to build up the trust of professionals in the young talent and demonstrate that being young is a big advantage, not a limitation.
It’s for that that IE University has made come together in different cities, speakers from different sectors that will talk about their experiences. “Their testimony will support the idea that the only thing that holds us from our goals is our attitude and determination”, the students explain “sometimes is as simple as to believe that, by transforming our way of thinking and acting, we can have a bigger impact on a personal and professional level”.
Between the speakers we can find Adrián Ortíz (Ceo of Xtriace), Álvaro Tavira, president and founder of Active City, Belén Varela, lawyer and specialists on human resources, José Luis Abadín, Spanish racer, Juan Martínez Barea, Spain ambassador for Singularity University (NASA Ames Parque), Luis Iván Cuende García, founder of Asturix, Paloma Lillo, Marketing and Start-ups development specialist, Víctor Guixer Martín, entrepreneur from Barcelona and Jorge Izquierdo, app developer.
“Aquí hay talento” will take place on April 1st in Barcelona, on the 3rd in Seville, the 8th in Madrid and the 10th in Valencia. The team is made of IE University students on Bachelor in Business Administration; Elena Uribe Marcos, Manuel Rivas Moreno, Pablo González Ruíz de la Torre; Communication student María Valls Roque, and they are coordinated by Elisa Meléndez Martin, Associated Director for Business Development in Spain at IE University.
