“Picasso’s Guernica”, a lecture at the IE School of Arts and Humanities
The IE School of Arts and Humanities in collaboration with the IE Alumni Association have the honor of inviting you to a lecture entitled "Picasso’s Guernica: How, When, and Why. A Closer Look at the Creative Process of One of Last Century’s Icons” on Tuesday, February 9th at 19.30h.
Marta Muñoz Recarte is an art history professor at the Instituto Europeo di Design in Madrid, who specializes in 19th and 20th Century Art. Professor Muñoz Recarte was the creative force behind the contents for the Sociedad Estatal para la Acción Cultural Exterior’s Contemporary Art webpage and Project Manager for Prado Museum’s Encyclopedia, which was commissioned by the Fundación Amigos del Museo Del Prado. Professor Muñoz Recarte will talk to us about one of the art world’s most moving and enigmatic paintings.
“Guernica has become a part of our history,” says Muñoz Recarte, “It has integrated itself into our daily life. However, we know very little about the work’s fascinating creative process; by studying this process we can take a closer look at the world of images not only of Pablo Picasso, but of a whole era.”
The conference will be given in room E-107 at the IE Business School campus located c/ Pinar, 9.
