After all, how can we claim to be any better if we bluntly wipe out everything that doesn't align with our belief system?
So instead, I tried to think of how to re-utilize this inward-oriented factory typology so that it starts a dialogue with its surroundings. By simply inverting the heavy mass of the factory, we light a path that creates a processional experience while incorporating existing structures. Thus, general logic becomes this path that takes you through different artifacts or experiences in the landscape.
Once the general layout was there, it was time to start exploring the intermediate scales that lie between what we call architecture and furniture. These scales help to explore and develop, but also showcase the peculiarities of this complex program—potential realities that are commonly disregarded by the general public due to misrepresentation. The series of drawings are meant to be an interface or a keyhole into something new. Something uncanny, yet beautiful. A different kind of mindset where we ask "what if" and answer "why not" more often. We ask these questions until the subjects stop feeling alien to us and become something we are willing to incorporate in our daily lives.
I want to end by saying that I see this project not as an ultimate solution for all the issues I am trying to grapple with, but rather a challenge to create a carefully handcrafted reality that would be deeply grounded yet imaginative, one that can potentially encourage people to ask questions they would otherwise be oblivious to. And who knows, maybe a couple of projects down the line, we might be asking more questions and finding more answers.
