David Rey del Río

David Rey is currently Senior Strategy Manager at Expedia Group, where he works in the PLS division (Private Label Solutions) focused on industry and key market trends analysis, and positioning of the B2B business within the travel ecosystem. He supports the development of strategic plans and initiatives to drive the division’s growth.

Prior to this role, he was Manager of Strategy and Corporate Development at Mutua Madrileña, working in the President’s Office, where he contributed to overseeing the company’s Strategic Plan, managing key strategic projects, and supporting Corporate Development initiatives.

Previously, he was a Senior Consultant at the KPMG Deal Strategy team in Madrid, focusing on M&A strategic projects, including commercial and operational due diligence, carve-outs, and synergies, particularly in the consumer (FMCG), industrial (Auto & Manufacturing), and services sectors (Education, Sports)

His professional experience also includes an earlier role as a labour lawyer at PwC, advising companies on labour matters and conducting labour due diligence.

Academically, he holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration from the University of Valladolid, as well as a dual Master’s degree in Access to Law Practice and Corporate Legal and Tax Advisory from IE Business School.

He also has international experience with stays at Sacramento State University (CSUS), the Council of Europe (Strasbourg), and the Constitutional Court of Peru (Lima).
