From the 20th until the 22nd of June 2012, Barcelona will be the headquarters of the international conference of architecture, education and professional practice: CHANGE, Architecture, Education & Practices, led by Martha Thorne, Associate Dean of External Relations at IE School of Architecture & Design and Xavier Costa, director of Northeastern University.

"It is the first time since 2005 that ACSA organizes an International Conference; it is very satisfying that Spain and IE as an innovative school in the sector have been selected to co organize it," said Javier Quintana, Dean of IE School of Architecture & Design.

The International Conference of the prestigious Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) will be attended by prominent guests such as Bjarke Ingels, Odile Decq y Joan Busquets.

The subject of the conference will be based on the importance of schools and intellectual leadership in the new economic scenarios and professional cultures in architecture. The ACSA 2012 Conference will focus on change and exploring these issues in relation to seven themes: Civic Engagement, Academy, Practice, Technology, Cities, Globalization, Sustainability and one additional flexible category.
