IE University announces the winners of the 2022 Prizes in the Humanities

2022 IE Foundation Prizes in the Humanities
Nearly 1,000 entries were submitted in the categories of poetry, short stories and essays, video, photography and photographic series.

IE University has announced the winners of the 2022 Prizes in the Humanities, awarded by the IE Foundation in the categories of poetry, short stories and essays in Spanish and English, video, photography and photographic series. Nearly 1,000 works were submitted for the seventh edition by students, alumni, professors and employees of the institution. Among the members of the jury are leading international cultural figures such as writers Javier Moro, Namita Ghokale and Kit Fan, along with photographers Álvaro Ybarra and Jean-Marc Manson, among others.

“The IE Foundation Prizes in the Humanities recognize the creative talent that sets the IE community apart, showing us once again the generosity of those who let us enter other lives and visit other landscapes through their eyes, their words, broadening our horizons.”
Victoria Gimeno, the competition’s director

The IE Foundation Prizes in the Humanities highlight the humanistic vision of all members of our educational community, along with their critical thinking and the ability to see and experience different realities. The IE Foundation, in collaboration with IE University's Arts and Humanities Division, organizes the annual competition to promote a humanistic vision of the world, which is part of the institution's identity.

“In these particularly turbulent times, the humanities keep us alive, bring us closer to beauty and are capable of restoring our illusion and hope. The humanities, in the end, make us better people, allow us to understand ourselves and our contradictions. I would like to thank all of you who have participated in this edition of the awards and for “donating” to us your valuable time. And, of course, thanks to the members of the jury who each year help us to evaluate every submission,” says Diego del Alcázar Silvela, founder and President of IE University.

The awards ceremony will be held on September 20 at 6 pm at IE Tower, IE University's new technological and sustainable campus.
