IE University celebrates Global Village 2023 with students from 140 countries
IE Global Village has become a tradition to celebrate diversity.
IE University’s Segovia campus celebrated IE Global Village Day, a virtual trip around the world at the historic Santa Cruz la Real, where students from 140 countries share their history, customs, music and gastronomy at the annual celebration of diversity. IE Global Village has become a tradition at IE University, an opportunity to celebrate diversity, a key value that distinguishes IE as one of the most international educational institutions, guaranteeing a unique experience for students.
This year saw students from more than 140 countries in Africa, America, Asia and Europe share their history and traditions, with cultural events, craft stands and food tasting.
The activity was organized by Campus Life with the support of the IE Foundation and the Institutional Relations Department and student clubs. Santiago Íñiguez de Onzoño, Executive President of IE University, and Sabine Yazbeck, Global Head of Student Experience, participated in the opening of the event.
The flags of many of the countries represented on campus flew in the sports area of the Segovia campus, where stands representing each nationality were set up. All with the same goal: to celebrate the diversity of the IE community, enrich the university experience and share customs and traditions, music, dance and literature.
"Diversity at IE is unique. It is seen, felt and heard at all times."
Sabine Yazbeck, Global Head of Student Experience
"The Global Village day celebrated annually at IE is the day we celebrate our diversity, an opportunity for students to celebrate their culture, gastronomy and traditions, bringing the entire world together," said Sabine Yazbeck.
In parallel to this activity, ambassadors and diplomats from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) visited the IE University campus in Segovia, meeting with Angel Alonso, Vice Dean of IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs.
