IE University further consolidates its position among the top-30 universities in the world for graduate employability

The Global Employability Ranking, published today in Times Higher Education, places IE University in the No. 1 position among Spanish higher education institutions, No. 10 at European level, and 27th in the world.

The ranking evaluates the top 150 universities in the world and gauges the employability of their students, based on the opinion of 4,600 senior managers from 21 countries.

IE University graduates have the best job prospects of those from any higher education institution in Spain, according to a survey published today in Times Higher Education, one of the world’s leading publications in its field. Furthermore, IE University holds the No. 10 position in Europe, and No. 27 worldwide in terms of employability.

The ranking, carried out by consultancies Emerging (France) and Trendence (Germany), assesses the attractiveness of the world’s leading universities as seen by 4,600 recruiters and directors of large companies from 21 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Turkey.

The survey examined an extensive range of aspects, revealing that 75% of directors said they see higher education as a global market, highlighting the importance of English as the lingua franca of university teaching, while also underscoring the role of digitalization in providing access to knowledge. The survey also took into account criteria such as the excellence and reputation of universities and their focus on practice, as well as their ability to equip students with interpersonal skills.

IE University has climbed two positions since the 2014 edition to take the No. 27 position worldwide in 2015. This places the institution among the 30 higher education institutions most valued by human resource directors around the world, alongside Harvard, Cambridge, and Oxford. The top 30 list comprises 11 US universities, 11 from Europe, five from Asia, two from Canada, and one from Australia.

“IE University’s mission is to shape the best international talent by using the most innovative teaching methods. The key characteristics of our academic model are an international focus, innovation, and technology, coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit, all of which serve to guide our students’ career paths,” says Salvador Carmona, Rector of IE University. “It’s extremely rewarding to see that year after year the world’s leading companies recognize the abilities of our graduates, as this ranking shows.”
