Representatives of institutions like the British Council, the Goethe Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute and the French Institute, debated  in Segovia the different projects implemented by this network

Representatives of EUNIC Spain - European network whose activity is focused on the field of culture – celebrated today in the IE Campus in Segovia a professional meeting with the objective of pondering about the projects commonly planned by these organisations.

EUNIC (Unión Europea de Institutos Nacionales de Cultura) develops cultural projects as well as other cultural collaboration venues. EUNIC Spain was founded in October 2008 as a network of European cultural organizations. EUNIC member institutes in Spain share their experience and cultural policies and aim to create a space for reflection in the role of culture and its potential development in the context of globalization. With these two ideas, EUNIC Spain promotes a dynamic culture, tolerant and open in Spain, Europe and the rest of the World.

Among the issues addressed in Segovia, the importance of joint action against individual action was included; evaluate and establish the objectives and criteria for good EUNIC project in Spain; decide the active collaboration between the European Cultural Institutes; promote and improve linguistic and cultural diversity in Europe and strengthen dialogue and cooperation with institutions and Spanish cultural centers.

Participants included, the General Director of the Alliance Française, Elisabeth Ranedo; the General Director of the British Council, Rod Pryde, General Directorof the Goethe Institute, Magareta Hauschild and Director of the French Institute, Alain Fohr. Also attending: cultural representatives of the Camoes Institute in Portugal, the Polish Cultural Institute, the Hungarian Embassy, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Romanian Cultural Institute and the American Institute of Finland, among others.

Salvador Carmona, Rector of IE University acted as a host, explaining to the directors and other participants from EUNIC the nearby projects of IE University.
