IE University hosts the Academy of Management's strategic meeting on the global future of entrepreneurship research and training
The Mid-Winter Meeting of the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management (AOM) brought together academic leaders from internationally renowned universities to define strategic priorities.
IE University has hosted the Mid-Winter Meeting (MWM) of the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management (AOM), a benchmark event in the academic field of entrepreneurship. For three days, the heads of the AOM's Entrepreneurship Division Division met to define their strategies, with the aim of continuing to promote research and training in entrepreneurship at a global level, establishing priorities for the coming years in key aspects such as the development of academic talent, international collaboration and strengthening links between academia and practice.
The event was attended by academics from prestigious institutions such as King’s College London (United Kingdom), University of Sydney (Australia), EGADE Business School (Mexico), KU Leuven (Belgium), Indiana University, University of Alabama, University of Illinois Chicago, University of Nevada Las Vegas, University of Houston, Texas A&M University, University of Massachusetts Lowell, University of North Texas, Louisiana State University, Florida Atlantic University, Oklahoma State University y Jacksonville University (United States).
Throughout the meeting, participants have worked on key initiatives to strengthen the impact of the discipline at a global level, such as:
- Developing a more connected and diverse academic community, promoting opportunities for emerging researchers and expanding the participation of underrepresented regions and profiles.
- Strengthening ties between academia and practice, incorporating experts and professors with experience in the business world.
- Planning the next AOM Annual Meeting, reviewing symposia, workshops and strategies for disseminating research in entrepreneurship.
