Asier Sarasua, Bachelor in Business Administration second year student in IE University, takes part in StartupBus, an European initiative with more than 150 young entrepreneurs from six countries – UK, Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy and Spain – competing in a competition of innovative and viable startup creation. The most significant about this international competition is that the students have to create their projects in a 72 hour bus trip travelling through Europe to Austria.

The finalist of this competition will have to stand up for their project in the Pioneer’s Festival of Viena, one of the most important entrepreneurs, hackers and tech specialists conferences in Europe. Asier Sarasua was selected amongst 300 candidates and belongs to the group of 25 entrepreneurs representing Spain that left Barcelona last Sunday. This young people have five days to create a start-up on a bus.

Asier Sarasua’s project is one of the finalists that are going to be presented by the Spanish team to get the pass to the finals of the Pioneers’ Festival in Viena on October 30th. Called “Ask for a concert” IE University’s student’s project is based on searching how to make the music industry profitable by means of an app.

The app “Ask for a concert” focus on the customer demand, the key to any business; and through social profiles of users in the platform – like Facebook – the preferences and musical tastes of a region can be known and with that, the events related to those tastes can be strengthened.

“It is a sure bet pretending to make the most profits of a industry that has been badly battered by the crisis, as the music sector”, says IE University’s student, adding that “in a market affected by cultural taxes increment and with so little public affluence – implying that booking a place is not worth the inversion – this tool could contribute giving practical solutions”
