Lisa Bevill, Academic Director of IE University’s Center for Health and Well-being, highlights “the need to educate from a holistic, people-centered approach” at UN HQ in New York.

Lisa Bevill, Academic Director of IE University’s Center for Health and Well-being took part in the global launch of the UN Mental Health and Well-being Strategy in New York. The event was chaired by Amina J. Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary-General.

Bevill highlighted the role of IE University’s Center for Health and Well-being in “promoting well-being and mental health in the educational environment, as well as the need to train from a holistic, people-centered approach".

This strategy, Bevill explained, provides a roadmap for creating an inclusive and sustainable work environment where mental health and wellness are integrated. "We need to continue to work together to prioritize mental health and well-being, as well as creating networks for decision-making with a positive impact on society.”

In May, IE University hosted the UN System Workplace Mental Health & Well-being Retreat, bringing togetherUN leaders to lay the groundwork for the implementation of the UN System Workplace Mental Health & Well-being Strategy.
