IE University to train top executives from the European Securities and Markets Authority on the challenges of AI and Fintech

IE University to train top executives from the ESMA on AI and Fintech
IE University already delivers talent development programs for public bodies such as the European Investment Fund, the European Investment Bank, and United Nations.

IE University has signed a four-year agreement with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) to deliver programs to top executives in the field of economics, data, artificial intelligence, IT security and financial markets, banking, insurance, and occupational pension. ESMA works to enhance investor protection and promote stable and orderly financial markets in Europe. As part of this agreement, IE University will deliver courses to the European Bank Authority (EBA) and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), which form part of the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs).

Staff of supervisory and regulatory bodies such as the ESMA, EBA, and EOIPA face the important challenge of keeping up with and understanding new technologies and business models, and integrating them into their agenda without exposing markets to risk. IE University will provide new training programs for the supervisors and regulators to enhance their capacities to deal with new technological opportunities and innovations. The IE University programs will fuel the discussion around the supervisory and regulatory agenda through an analyzation of the different emerging technologies and new business models in the financial regulatory arena.

“IE University is honored to bring its expertise in financial markets, technology, control, and supervision to ESMA as part of our commitment to support the talent development of European public institutions.”
Teresa Martín-Retortillo, Executive President of Lifelong Learning at IE University

Since its foundation, IE University, with more than 8,000 students from 140 countries and more than 3,000 executives and managers trained annually, works to promote positive change through education, innovation, and research.
