Next week on Monday the 16th of September, IE University will kick off the 2013-2014 academic year with a new version of its welcoming activities known as “Orientation Week”. Over the course of three days, the largely international freshman students, many of which had to pass through demanding academic and personal tests to enter the university, will be given introductions about the University.

The first day, all students will receive information on the way the general university system works. Tuesday the 17th is dedicated to the bachelors that  make up the academic offer at IE University; this day, representatives from each bachelor will inform registered students on different operations including  curricular design, attendance, evaluation systems, etc. The third and last day, Wednesday the 18th, is dedicated to extracurricular activities, both cultural and sports, the objective is to insure the students’ stay at IE University is a vital experience.

Thus the Orientation Week becomes an excellent instrument to prepare students for their journey along the academic life they are about to begin. These activities are also geared to create a feeling of identity between students and their university, helping with them integrate and at the same time create a truly authentic university community.
