Jaime de Aguinaga and María Eugenia Marín Join the Office of the IE University Provost

The Office of the provost will drive the IE University’s international expansion and create and consolidate new strategic alliances.

Following the recent appointment of Manuel Muñiz as Provost, IE University has announced that María Eugenia Marín and Jaime de Aguinaga will join his senior management team.

Now Vice Provost for Academic Partnerships and Alliances at IE University, María Eugenia Marín will focus on strengthening the portfolio of academic partnerships across all IE schools, as well as play a strategic role in the expansion of academic global alliances. Marin was most recently General Director for International Relations at IE University and has more than 30 years of experience in international relations. She is also an adjunct faculty member specializing in cross-cultural management.

Prior to IE University, Marin held a senior position at the EU-funded think tank Institute for European-Latin American Relations and worked at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government as well as the US Senate. A regular participant in higher education forums and contributor to diverse media platforms, Marin holds a Bachelor in Liberal Arts from Harvard University and an MSc in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics.

As Vice Provost for Strategy and Development at IE University, Jaime de Aguinaga will play a key role in the creation and expansion of strategic partnerships, including the institution’s partnership with the United Nations. In coordination with IE University’s governing bodies, he will also help define and implement the medium and long-term strategy of the University.

Most recently, de Aguinaga has been Vice Dean for Management and Development at the IE School of Global and Public Affairs. Prior to joining IE University, he managed several country offices of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and previously held other senior positions at the Spanish Agency for International Development and the World Bank. He brings 20 years of international experience in strategic analysis, management, and development and holds a Master in Public Administration and International Development from Harvard University, as well as a BEng+MEng in Civil Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
