Students of IE University organize a TEDx event at the campus of Segovia

A group of students of IE University, with the patronage of the Student Office and the Department of Extracurricular Activities, have organized the first event of TEDx that will take place on the campus of Segovia.  This coming Saturday the 16th of March, approximately a hundred people will congregate at the Campus of Santa Cruz la Real to attend the event TEDxIEUSegovia, an organized day of talks and inspiration based around the theme of “The fallacy of security”.

The seminar is of special significance due to being officially licensed by TED, the prestigious non-profit organization dedicated to “Ideas Worth Spreading”.  TED was born twenty-five years ago as a four-day conference in California and has since become an entity which has collaborated with international leaders and thinkers to support ideas that can bring important changes to our planet through multiple initiatives.   Among the illustrious figures who have given TED talks are individuals such as Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and Gordon Brown.   The TEDx variant of these events is a series of seminars and conferences organized at a local, independent level, which search for people all around the world who are willing to share an experience similar to TED itself.
