SEGOVIA  (IE University), SPAIN, JUNE 7-8, 2012.

The purpose of this workshop is to promote the application of economic analysis in accounting research. Following the great success of ten previous workshops in a row, this workshop again offers a forum to thoroughly discuss recent research using this methodology.

Economic analysis is an important research tool to structure the research process and derive powerful insights into accounting procedures and institutions. It has been successfully used to analyse a wide variety of issues that are related to information asymmetry and potential conflicts of interests between involved people and groups of people. The models provide convenient structures to analyse financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, and corporate governance themes.

Participants are invited to present their own work in the field, to provide a formal discussion of papers presented by other participants, or to attend presentations and participate in the discussions. The benefit of participation is to present and get feedback to own research, to be on the forefront of the research, and to discuss issues related to economic analysis.

The Workshop will take place in at the IE Segovia Campus, Santa Cruz la Real Cardenal Zúñiga 12, 40003 Segovia, Spain
