    Our cutting-edge laboratories located in Segovia—including labs in Physics, Environmental DNA and Microbiology, Biogeochemistry, and Geobiology—equip our students with the tools to explore the complexity of Earth systems at multiple scales. These labs support hands-on learning essential for addressing global environmental challenges, from analyzing rock and mineral deposits to detecting plant pathogens using advanced molecular techniques. Students gain practical experience in PCR, RT-PCR, mineralogy, microbiology, chemistry, and data analysis, all while following rigorous scientific and biosafety standards.     Strong Local Partnerships for Applied Learning

    Through partnerships with the Diputación de Segovia and the Ayuntamiento de Segovia, students can develop academic projects that address real-world challenges with both local and global relevance—what’s known as a glocal approach. Issues like climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, unsustainable resource use, and desertification appear locally but have global implications. Through these projects, students learn to diagnose, design, and implement sustainable solutions with direct territorial impact and global applicability.
