The first year builds the foundation for your Bachelor in Environmental Sciences for Sustainability journey. You’ll get a thorough grounding in biology, as well as mathematics and physics as they apply to environmental science. You will have one project per semester and a field trip for hands-on experience. We will study research methods to train writing and communication skills from the beginning and many laboratory sessions to put your knowledge and environmental measuring techniques into practice.
In the second year, you’ll continue the study of Plants, Animals and Microorganisms, Ecology Engineering and Contamination. We’ll take a closer look at Technologies for Spatial Measurements, fundamentals of statistics and probability, and you’ll be introduced to a transversal module in entrepreneurship as well as a project and field trip focused on Ecosystem restoration and pollution evaluation.
In the third year, you will look at some of the great challenges of our time: climate, water and ecosystem dynamics. As well you will be introduced to the economics, regulation and sociology of environmental science. You’ll also be introduced to Biotechnology. The second semester will include a field trip focused on Environmental Toxicology.
Your final year is dedicated to electives, where you can take all that you’ve learned over the past three years and deepen your knowledge even further while pursuing topics and a specialization that you are passionate about. In the first semester, you will learn about the virtues of Big Data and AI as valuable tools for environmental impact assessment. Before completing your degree, you’ll embark on the Capstone Project, giving you hands-on experience in tackling real-world issues.
