Jorge Moreno
I was born in Alicante, Spain, where I grew up and studied until I came to IE University to start my dual degree. I’d describe myself as someone who strives to live with coherence, to be fair and to seek happiness in curiosity, self-fulfillment and, above all, in the love of the people I care about. In fact, I am deeply grateful for my family’s continuous support, as it has allowed me to focus on studying and finding the best possible opportunities.

From Alicante to Madrid: a journey in law and business
Jorge Moreno's path to IE University began in his hometown of Alicante, where he grew up surrounded by a supportive community. This foundation of love and encouragement allowed him to excel in his studies, opening doors to experiences that would shape his future.
It was during high school that Jorge first learned about IE University, thanks to an economics professor who recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue a place here. He says, "As I researched the institution, I realized that it was a great opportunity to make a qualitative leap in my education."
The Dual Degree in Business Administration & Laws was a deliberate choice for this ambitious student, reflecting his dual interests in the business world and the resolution of complex legal problems. He saw corporate legal counseling as a perfect blend of management, decision-making, finance and creativity—elements that he believed would lead to a fulfilling career path.
What stood out to Jorge about the legal part of this program was its unique approach. Its comparative methodology focuses on international legal frameworks rather than solely Spanish law, which allowed him to understand the law as a coherent system rather than an arbitrary set of propositions.
Furthermore, the program's practical nature enriched his learning experience. With its emphasis on case studies, simulations and collaborative group work, the program provided him with real-world context for theoretical concepts.
Jorge's experience at IE University has been nothing short of empowering. He highlights the abundance of opportunities available beyond the classroom, including various student-led clubs, events and competitions. One of his most memorable experiences was participating in the Jessup Moot Court Competition during his third year. The university's support enabled his team to excel in this international legal competition, further enhancing his skills in legal argumentation and teamwork.
Throughout his degree, Jorge has continuously interacted with law firms. Many of his professors hold senior positions in top national and international firms, providing valuable insights into the legal profession. The IE Talent & Careers team has also facilitated internship opportunities that allowed Jorge to engage with the real world of legal practice early on. During his second year, he was selected for an internship at Deloitte through the Young Corporate Program and interned in the Tax Law department of Cuatrecasas in his third year. He’s set to intern at Uria Menéndez starting next summer.
In reflecting on his dual degree program so far, Jorge describes his learning journey as "enriching." The combination of academic rigor, practical application and extracurricular opportunities has prepared him to navigate the complexities of the legal world with confidence and a solid global perspective.
