IEU LABS
IEU Labs are IE University’s alternative to traditional internships. Designed for first- and second-year students seeking high-level internship placements, the IE Labs provide a hands-on, internship-like, on-campus experience, where you work on projects for leading companies and institutions in a variety of sectors.
HUMANITIES
Holding them as one of its values, IE University understands the Humanities are key to understanding the reality of our world, and applying critical thinking skills to complex, global challenges. Students can select which Humanities course to complete, based on their interests.
ADVANCED SEMINARS
Advanced Seminars complement the core degree by giving students deeper knowledge of subjects in a very diverse area of studies.
INTERNSHIPS
Additionally, students can take part in several internships, gaining professional skills and enhancing that highly valued international profile.
LANGUAGES
Aside from mastering Spanish, our students can decide to study other relevant languages of today’s globalized world, including French, Portuguese, German, Arabic, or Chinese.

Can Humanities students take additional Humanities courses outside the core?
Yes. Students can select which Humanities course to complete based on their interests (positioned as part of tailoring the experience).
What are “Advanced Seminars,” and who are they for?
Advanced Seminars complement core courses, offering in-depth study of specific topics. They are suitable for students who want to deepen their knowledge in a subject or strengthen their profile for postgraduate studies.
Are internships still possible (beyond IEU Labs)?
Yes. In addition to IEU Labs, Humanities students can also participate in traditional internships with external organizations. These internships help you gain real‑world professional skills and build an international profile alongside your academic development.
How important are clubs at IE, and are there many options?
IE University has a vibrant student‑club ecosystem with 100+ active clubs across professional, cultural, social, sports and other interests, offering many ways to connect, develop skills and build community.
Students can join existing clubs or propose and launch new clubs by submitting a club proposal. IE provides support and tools to help student‑led initiatives grow, including guidance through Campus Life and opportunities to lead events or take on club leadership roles.
What is the “Professional Development Program” and how does it help me become employable?
The Professional Development Program combines three initiatives—Careers in Context Series, Professional Toolbox Workshops, and a Mentorship Program—to help Humanities students translate critical thinking into real-world impact, communicate with clarity, and build habits for long-term professional success.
How does the Mentorship Program work (timeline, and who it’s for)?
IE describes one-on-one guidance with selected mentors to support academic decisions, career exploration and professional development. The timeline listed is: October: submit application; January–May: learn from your mentors, and it’s indicated for Years 2–3.
