IEU LABS
IEU Labs are IE University’s alternative to traditional internships. Designed for first- and second-year students seeking high-level internship placements, the IE Labs provide a hands-on, internship-like, on-campus experience, where you work on projects for leading companies and institutions in a variety of sectors.
HUMANITIES
Holding them as one of its values, IE University understands the Humanities are key to understanding the reality of our world, and applying critical thinking skills to complex, global challenges. Students can select which Humanities course to complete, based on their interests.
ADVANCED SEMINARS
Advanced Seminars complement the core degree by giving students deeper knowledge of subjects in a very diverse area of studies.
INTERNSHIPS
Additionally, students can take part in several internships, gaining professional skills and enhancing that highly valued international profile.
LANGUAGES
Aside from mastering Spanish, our students can decide to study other relevant languages of today’s globalized world, including French, Portuguese, German, Arabic, or Chinese.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
PPLE Talks
The PPLE Talks is a public speaking challenge offered to first-year students of the program. As an extracurricular activity, the students are coached through different sessions to help them prepare for the competition. Think of it as TED Talks, IE University style.
GAWA CHALLENGE
Second-year students can take part in the GAWA challenge, where they will learn about social impact investment. Participants get hands-on experience conducting economic, political and legal analysis for a social impact fund.
PPLE DINNERS
Thought leaders and top experts will be invited twice per semester to join our PPLE students for an intimate networking dinner. Here, participants will have the opportunity to discuss and debate topics related to political affairs, philosophical questions, legal debates, justice, freedoms, morals and democracy, and ethics, among others. Events of this nature promote problem-solving and innovative thinking while helping students understand topics and concepts in a more meaningful and profound way.
Additionally, the dinners aim to strengthen the PPLE community by connecting students who are at various stages of their degree programs while encouraging them to think critically and share unique points of view.
OXFORD ANALYTICA CHALLENGE
The Oxford Analytica Challenge is a competition where students must work in teams to develop and present an international consulting project. This research project is based on real-world scenarios, with students being in contact with decision-makers on the ground.
The aim of this competition is for students to apply their knowledge of philosophy, politics, law and economics to analyze genuine problems at the intersection of all four disciplines.
MOOT COURT COMPETITIONS
In recent years, IE University students have participated in and won several Moot Court Competitions. These tough competitions generally focus on a complex case developed by each individual Moot on specific issues. PPLE students can take part in the following Moot Court Competitions: European Human Rights Moot Court Competition, Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, and Europa Moot Court Competition.
HONOURS PROGRAM
The IE University Undergraduate Honors Program is open to all bachelor’s students ranking in the top 5% of their program. The aim is to encourage excellent academic performance and foster professional prospects. This specialized program provides participants with an exciting academic environment in which they can network and learn from top-tier industry professionals. With presentations on relevant topics and insights on current affairs, the program includes a launch event and closing ceremony to be enjoyed by all students and visiting professionals.
COMPARATIVE LAW IN ACTION
PPLE students with a keen interest in law can take part in IE University’s Comparative Law in Action challenge, the first international university competition in comparative law, technology and policy.
Technology is at the forefront of this challenge, resulting in an immersive experience. Participants must work on a tailor-made interactive multimedia case to find innovative and cutting-edge solutions to complex legal and social problems.
A final three-day event will take place in Madrid, where participants will attend workshops, collaborate in teams and role-play their projects to a panel of judges.
